Goethe A1 & A2 Exam Details

Congratulations to you all for signing up for your German language exam by the Goethe Institute. Please refer to the below information about your exam (A1 or A2). Please arrive on time, we will start promptly and late arrivals will not be accommodated. Please reach out to us if you have any further questions.

You will need for the exam:
valid official photo ID document
blue or black pen (NO PENCILS)
NO AID MATERIALS like dictionaries or electronic devices (incl. your smartphone) etc. will be allowed into the exam room
About the exams:
Before starting the exam, all participants must provide proof of their identities.
Before beginning of the exam, the respective exam documents for participants and the answer sheet are distributed to the participants. Participants record all the required personal information on the answer sheets. Once this is completed the supervisor will begin the timed section of the exam.

A1 Exam on Friday, 3. Mai 2024
The written exam as a whole lasts 65 minutes with no breaks: Exam Section LISTENING approx. 20 mins, READING 25 mins, WRITING 20 minutes.
The SPEAKING section will be conducted in groups of no more than four participants and will last approx. 15 minutes. No time is given for preparation.

11.45 - 12.00 pm // participants' arrival, identity check
12.00 - 1.05 pm // written exam all
1.05 - 1.20 pm // break all
1.20 - 1.35 pm // oral exam

A2 Exam on Saturday, 4. Mai 2024
The written exam as a whole lasts 90 minutes with no breaks: Exam Section LISTENING approx. 30 mins, READING 30 mins, WRITING 30 minutes.
The SPEAKING section will be conducted in groups of no more than two participants and will last approx. 15 minutes. No time is given for preparation.

8.40 - 9.00 am // participant arrival, identity check
9.00 - 10.30 am // written exam all
10.30 - 11.00 am // break all
11.00 - 1.30 pm // oral exams in groups of 2*
*Please note that this schedule is approximate and not guaranteed. Depending on the group you are assigned to for the oral exam you might be done as early as 11.15 am.
